Saint Michaels Catholic Church in Garland Texas is a very active and important church in Garland Texas. We recently installed a Renkus-Heinz digitally steered sound system which was a vast improvement of the ceiling hung cluster that was replaced. This system improved both the intelligibility and coverage in the sanctuary. The sanctuary has a back wall made of brick and because of its location was creating a slap back return noise heard as the sound from the speakers hits the back wall of brick and creates the slap back return noise.

After the complete room analysis by Auralex Acoustics, a plan with the needed number of Auralex 2’x4′ panels was installed. The placement of the ceiling panels also provides for a bass trap effect trapping and canceling low frequencies. They look beautiful and have improved the problem with the slap back return noise in the sanctuary also further improving the intelligibility of what is being said.
